The Wonders of Events Decorating Services

I am a business major and although I have a few background on marketing, I have very little experience in both actual advertising, product packaging and company branding. I also had very little to no training whatsoever in the art and science of visuals. And this is to completely say, I had no experience nor inclination in events decorating. 

But as a fresh new employee, it was almost inevitable. Working in Asia for most of my professional life, I found that in almost any company, there are these ‘rituals’, these rites of passage. When you are a newcomer, you have to host company events, organize team-building activities and help in almost every company socials. So the choice almost always boil down to that: either serve as emcee or lead the décor committee. Between my stage fright and lack of artistic skills, it was an easy choice. 

And thus during my first year in our company, I was tasked to make logistic arrangements for our foundation festivities. Thankfully, at that time, and since the foundation day was a regular activity of the office, we already had a number of staff to help. There were already groups assigned to organising speakers, finalizing invitations and guests lists, coordinating with suppliers, purchasing souvenirs, video coverage, arranging lights, sound, catering and other logistics. What was left for me and my team to do was literally decorate the venue and make it as memorable and unique. And thankfully too, we had a modest budget to get the job done. 

Finding Help 

And this was when I discovered in Singapore the magic of events decoration services. These companies provide designing and decorating services for almost any occasion: weddings, private parties, family affairs and yes, corporate functions. They provide décor, fabric, glassware, event lighting, furniture, fixtures, backdrop and necessary set-ups for any event. For weddings, they decorated venues with various fineries, flowers to make a wedding not just attractive and lively but solemn and memorable. For corporate functions, they offer a wide range of services which vary depending on the specific size, needs and budget of the client company. For family events, they can offer modest arrangements for modest prices. And for larger events like large festivals, they can provide practical arrangements that are reasonably priced yet still providing the necessary vibrant and lively atmosphere. Many Singapore companies even have props makers for more customized decorations. 

The Science of Decorating 

And there was almost a professional interaction to it, almost as if there was a science to the whole events décor business. First, the décor company conducted an assessment of our needs and resources which meant identifying our budget and objective. In other words, they matched our ideas within our financial limits. This also included determining the themes and motifs that we wanted. 

Then, they worked on the time frame and made a plan based on the possible weather, the time needed to custom-made actual decorations. Lastly, they scouted the venue and determined the most efficient way to decorate and set-up the place for the expected number of attendees. They determined the lay-out and sizes of utilities based on projected movement and needed space to perform the activities lined-up in the program for the event. 

The value of such services is of course obvious. The décor and arrangement in any venue is almost half the job done in making any event meaningful and memorable. It sets the mood or aura. It makes the event more attractive and vibrant and depending on how good the designers us, it can make the event unique simply by the set-up, back-drop, stage, lay-out or motif.
